Recap on the Angling Unlimited Fishing Trip in Sitka, AK

On May 31st, 6 Veterans embarked on an adventurous fishing retreat to Sitka, Alaska, provided by Angling Unlimited and sponsored by the Brady Oberg Legacy Foundation (BOLF).  These very deserving veterans enjoyed 3 days of fishing for King Salmon, Halibut, and Rockfish in a breathtakingly beautiful environment.  Angling Unlimited provided very comfortable lodging, meals and all of the equipment needed to have an incredible fishing experience.  The trip began with an amazing welcome by a crowd of Coast Guard, fire department and police officers all gathered to thank them for their service to our country.  The guys enjoyed grilled salmon one evening, participated in AU’s “Tent Event” and were invited to the Sitka Elks Club for a truly excellent meal, given as a token of appreciation for their service.  Best of all, these 6 veterans forged bonds of friendship for life!

The Foundation would like to thank Chuck McNamee and Tom Ohaus for their kind hospitality, Captain Eric, Deckhand Sarah, Hostess Kenzie, Ken and Sue Baumann, Kim McCollum, and all the staff at AU.  We would also like to thank the Coast Guard, Police and Fire Departments for their warm welcome and the Elks Club for the delicious meal.
